If your group would like to participate please email james@houstonghost.com
About HPA:
Houston Paranormal Alliance is NOT an investigative group. It is a voluntary alliance, networking and shared resource organization for Houston and south Texas area investigative groups. HPA is still in the formation process as initial groups are being contacted. and details are being sorted out. Governance of HPA will likely be comprised of one leadership delegate from each member group to vote on proposed standards, changes, etc.

Initially, we envision a standard agreed-upon code of conduct for all member groups, sharing of documentation practices, possible standardization of questionnaires and release forms for clients, etc. We will most likely look at setting a meeting schedule for group leaders to network and identify other groups in the area and their specialties with the hope that if one group needs to pull additional resources and/or talent from another group it can be done in the spirit of cooperation.

Other possible Goals / Benefits:
  • Development of a recommended reading list or other educational resources
  • Hands-on or Online Training classes
  • Certification program for general competencies
  • Standardization on equipment, investigation techniques, release and questionnaire forms, etc.
  • Drawing on specialists in other groups in the spirit of cooperation
  • Annual Conference to share information, network and case highlights.
Draft Code of Conduct, Etc: (to be expanded and voted on by member groups at a later date)
  1. The primary focus of any investigation should be to bring both information and relief to the client.
  2. Client privacy will be respected at all times, with the assumption that private clients wish to remain anonymous to the general public.
  3. Fees for investigations will never be assessed. However, policy for reimbursement of expenses is left at the discretion of member group leadership.
  4. Faking or falsifying images, recordings or documentation is grounds for revocation of membership.
  5. Illegal activities (ex: Trespassing), alcohol or illicit drugs during the course of an investigation are strictly prohibited.
  6. Recruiting members of another investigation group is prohibited. Dual membership in any member groups must be with the blessing of the leadership of both groups in question.
  7. Members should remain respectful of one another and clients at all times.
  8. Control of a cooperative investigation always remains with the group who initially generated the lead unless otherwise agreed by all parties.
  9. All members participating in in HPA functions must be at least 18 years of age.
